Hey, I’m Pri! I’m an ENFP who loves connecting with people and exploring cultures that feel different yet familiar in some way. I have a Bachelor’s in English Literature, so I’ve always been drawn to languages and stories that carry emotion. Korean feels special to me — it’s not just beautiful to hear, but it also expresses feelings in a way that feels very human and deep. I’m learning Korean because I want to understand its culture, mindset, and art from the inside. When I’m bored, I usually watch series or documentaries, and I love diving into unusual or thought-provoking topics be it metaphysics or a random talk on how universe was born to as simple as why did people come up with the idea of having tea or why many love mangoes while I don't. PolacoHi, my name is Joel Bean- I am an English/German (and on occasion Spanish) teacher and former musician from the USA, currently living in Warsaw. I am extremely passionate about languages/culture and how it can help us to develop a much wider understanding of every aspect of life and help to build meaningful relationships with other people. With this in mind, my goal is to be able to take in the culture, language, and perspective of others with an open and curious mind, and to also be able to teach and share my own culture, language, and experience through history, music, philosophy, and other disciplines. I want to be able to foster a sense of "cultural counterpoint"; that is, the ability to see the same basic object via several lenses at once, something which can be a direct outcome of the language learning process. I really love Steve Kaufmann and his respective methods in particular, and I would love to find others who share a similar enthusiasm for languages and in particular enjoy the process of learning. My German is at a C2 level, my Spanish is just right below, my Portuguese somewhere just under that, and my Ukrainian and Polish are somewhere in the middle (chcę zdać egzamin języka polskiego na poziomie B2 w ciągu najbliższych trzech lat)
Met het Nederlands ben ik nog en beginner, maar ik find deze taal eekt leuk (i gemakkelijk) ook ik will een dag uit Polen naar Nederland verhuizen :)
I would, in any case, like to refine all of the aforementioned languages to an extremely high level (with the goal of at some point being able to pass an advanced exam for all of those )

I worked in the finance and banking sector in the UK before uprooting and moved to Spain (before Brexit).
Prior to settling in the Canary Islands, I trained as a teacher of English for adults (Cambridge CELTA)
I enjoy reading texts with voice rather than reading in silence. My idea is that if everyone reads out in voice everyday, they may be able to delay cognitive decline later in life.
Also if anyone is interested in improving their pronunciation, I’m able to help. I read English texts with chat partners. I have nearly a hundred e-books with levels ranging from B1 to C1.

Antes de mudarme a las Islas Canarias, me formé como profesor de inglés para adultos (Cambridge CELTA).
Disfruto leyendo textos en voz alta en lugar de leer en silencio. Creo que si todos leyéramos en voz alta a diario, podríamos retrasar el deterioro cognitivo.

Hi, I'm Ava and I am from America. I speak English and I want to learn French and Spanish. However, I have severe anxiety when it comes to foreign language learning. I took French for only nine weeks in middle school because a hurtful teacher forced me to drop it so that I could spend more time with her which worsened my anxiety. I took Spanish for two years in high school but I never really got comfortable. I'm looking for someone who can teach me French from the beginning, as well as someone who can help me review the Spanish I remember so I can learn more. I need a lot of patience and encouragement. I need to stop having panic attacks about speaking foreign languages because I'm autistic and have a hyperfixation on foreign countries and their people. I also have loved French ever since I was little. I have some Spanish DNA as well so I'd like to learn more in order to be more comfortable in situations where I might need it.
I'm also up for practicing English with people!
If you have any questions about how we need to work on these languages together, I encourage you to ask. I have a therapy-based plan to get rid of my fear but I will need your help to put it in motion.
