Things I really enjoy include reading all kinds of books, writing, puzzling over life´s riddles and absurdities, going for walks or hikes, watching the leaves fall or the flowers blossom, listening to music (mostly various subgenres of Metal as well as Ambient, Nordic Folk and Stoner Rock, but I´m absolutely open to other genres), watching films /TV shows as well as getting to know interesting people and their stories. And of course, I have always loved learning languages.
However, as a rather introverted guy, I tend to be shy at first and can feel quite awkward, even anxious about making mistakes or generally making a fool of myself when talking in a foreign language. (Do any of you experience this contradiction, too – genuinely wanting to connect with people from all places and walks of life while having a hard time coming out of your shell?) This has kept me from practicing and learning for far too long. But now, I´ve decided to make a change and overcome my fear of writing in and speaking foreign languages. こんにちは、マグダです!
I've been studying Japanese for a couple of years now, and I feel like speaking with a native speaker could really help me improve.
At the same time, I'd love to make new friends and learn more about Japanese culture.
Sometimes when I talk with people who speak very good English, we end up using only English, and I don’t get to practice Japanese much.
I’d like to find someone who can respect both languages and study together.
