Hello. How are you? Hoping you are well? Tussi kiddan/kive ho? I need someone who speaks Majhi/Doabi Punjabi, preferably, for frequently practicising with over Whatsapp. In return I can help you with London/Estuary English (if necessary). From childhood Punjabi schooling, I have always been perfectly literate (reading/writing) in Gurmukhi. However, I struggle with comprehending and understanding spoken Punjabi, especially because lokan jaldi jaldi bolde ne. My Punjabi is intermediate. I can say simple sentences and construct clauses in various tenses and persons, but now I need to take it to the next level. I struggle to understand music and film dialogues, sometimes. And Punjabi interviews and news.
I would personally prefer exchanging text-messages and voicemails, as opposed to calling, because I am living with others and slightly shy/embarassed of my speaking confidence. I am more concerned about comprhending/understanding than my own personal pronunciation. But whatever you think is best. Many thanks. Happy to exchange Whatsapp numbers and begin practising.
