Hi Everyone,

My name is Jared and I am from Australia but currently live in Sicily with my wife.

I am at a B1 standard, but still make some basic mistakes and want to push my fluency to feel like a native speaker. I love being creative and solving problems, I also love and am fascinated by nature. The colder weather now is moving me indoors and now learning to grow mushrooms!

I love to read broadly, including history, science - mainly with a biological, environmental or engineering slant. At the moment I reading a lot about mushrooms :) I do read fiction, like Papperino, helps my italian:), classics and language readers like the Olly Richards books. I am also prone to dabble in a bit of philosophy, Stoicism at the moment. I also enjoy using writing as a tool for learning and reflection.

I love listening to music and seeing live music. I listen to almost anything, so long as it's not, well, bad. :) Rap, country, reggae, electronic, rock, classical, folk. I do love a bit of Frankie Hi NRG, Fabri and Capparezza.

If I am watching TV, I will mainly watch movies, anything with a good story. Love some older films, not black and white necessarily but maybe stuff like One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest.

I do love sports and fitness, rugby, cricket though is hard to play cricket in Italy.

I am happy to do exchanges in English.

I am looking to get started teaching and wanted to offer some more focused lessons, without the need to reciprocate in Italian that is cool. Let me know if you're interested!
