I'm a retired professional engineer hoping to get more fluent in French, and very happy to help someone else do the same with their English.

Je suis ingénieur professionnel retraité, et j'espère améliorer mon français. De plus, je serais très heureux d'aider quelqu'un d'autre faire le même avec anglais.

Despite living and working in the Francophone part of Switzerland for nearly 4 years (2007-11) my French didn't improve as I'd hoped then since at work other people's annual appraisals included how good they were at speaking English, so any meeting or whatever that I was in always switched to English. Out in the shops or at airfields (I was a keen glider and to a lesser extent power pilot) if I spoke in French the responses would always be in English.

I'm also trying to get to grips with Irish, where I am very much a beginner, and it's a very complex language for an English speaker to learn!
