Hello!
After a long career as an economist, I'm easing into a new career as a part-time English teacher. I'm especially interested in helping students or working professionals with pronunciation, business English, and English for academic purposes (e.g., preparing for study abroad, presenting at conferences, reading academic texts, etc.). I'm also curious about Japanese (I only know half of hiragana and maybe 50 words) and Korean (I've learned Hangul and know maybe 200 words, zero grammar).
Actually, I was already an English teacher for two years long ago (1988-90) and now I'm going back where I started. I have a BA in English Lit and two graduate degrees in natural resource economics, so I'm happy to discuss your academic ambitions if you have any. Over the years, I've studied Latin, German, Bahasa Indonesia, and Spanish, but I still have a lot to learn about all of these.

I'm a native of Osaka, Japan, currently living in the US.
My French is at an intermediate level. I can understand most of a French news broadcast, but I'd really like to work on my speaking skills.
My Korean is at a basic level; I can't really hold a conversation yet, but I'm actively studying.
I'm fluent in English, having worked in the US for most of my adult life.
If you're a native speaker of Korean or French, and are studying Japanese beyond the basic level, I'd love to do a language exchange. We can try a couple of language exchange sessions to see if we're a good fit.
I am available on Skype, LINE, Kakaotalk, Whatsapp, Google Meet, or Zoom - whichever works best for you.
Thanks!

Hi! 😊
I’m based in Boston and looking for in-person language exchange and friendly companionship in a relaxed, low-pressure setting.
I’m a native English speaker and happy to help with conversational English and natural expressions. I’m also practicing Korean and enjoy patient, real-life conversation. I want to start learning Japanese.I prefer meeting in person — usually at a quiet café or on a casual walk.
I’m easygoing, a good listener, and enjoy simple hangouts like coffee chats, talking about daily life, culture, movies, or music — no need to force conversation.
If you’re looking for a kind, respectful, and easygoing in-person exchange partner, I’d be happy to connect.
