Hihi! I'm Robin! I am a college sophomore, and getting ready to start medical school for veterinary medicine, so I can get my DMV (Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine). It is also my dream to have a career in voice acting, mainly in anime. I currently work as a lifeguard in both indoor and outdoor pools. I would like to learn Japanese so I can travel to Japan one day, and perhaps live there. My hobbies include drawing, baking, fashion, playing video games, reading manhwa, playing the piano (though I am still a novice), and singing. I have a strong love for animals if you could not tell by my goals for college, haha. I hope we can have a nice chat!

I'm new here so still trying to figure thing out. I do understand some spoken Spanish and French but am a bit short in the vocabulary department. I find it hard to trick my mind into wanting to learn new words. Memorization also doesn't work but I seem to be able to pickup words when they are used in context. This may be a good experiment for me to see if conversing with others on here will boost my vocab and knowledge of the target languages.
My hobby list is pretty deep. I'm sometimes a runner, volleyball player, gamer, Electronics/3D print maker, drone enthusiast. There are many other things in which I dabble occasionally as I try to keep my mind active learning new things. After a really poor language experience at school which left me worse off than before starting, I've been searching for better ways to learn. Assimil books/audio was good but with any self paced learning one can easily get distracted. Most of the French I know is from Assimil.
Anyways, enough about me...

Before COVID I worked in Africa (Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, etc) with a US-based Non-profit whose goal is to end violence against women and children. The work has been remote since March of 2020, so I decided to move to Kyiv in December. I Speak Spanish but I would like to keep practicing and improve my Spanish as well. I'm a heritage French speaker. I used to speak French fairly well but lost a lot of it since I don't speak very often. I understand quite a bit of French so my partner doesn't have to be a strong English speaker.
