I have lived in Japan for 6 years, in Osaka, Nagoya and Fukushima.
Now I am back home in the UK, working full-time as a translator.
I enjoy video games in their capacity as interactive media, and I have been lucky enough to meet and work with many game developers from Japan and abroad. I think there's still plenty of room for video games to mature as a genre.
I also enjoy music, especially from the baroque and renaissance period of western classical, but also various other genres that carry a strong sense of culture.
Why am I here? I want to make friends with more Japanese people, especially since I am not living in Japan right now. I would like the opportunity to help each other improve in our target language.
Hello, I am an American in the UK and a father of two children with a lovely wife. I work for the NHS, full time dad, and love to make new friends. Currently I am trying to learn Japanese and Mandarin, although realistically I know I'll have to pick one at some point. But, I'm not there yet so lets see where the road travels. I only speak English, but I am very happy to help when I can and if questions ever arise. I am very patient (something you learn as a parent if you want to keep your sanity intact) and find sincere pleasure in helping others.
I have lots of interest and hobbies that range from things like politics, sport, martial arts, anime, movies, pop culture, history and most importantly getting to know people. Honestly, one of the best things in life is learning about other people and growing a connection of friendship and exchange in understanding.

1. English - advanced & brush up more..
I work in the UK so I use English daily so do not have a big problem much with my English.
However, I realised that most of my friends are non English native and I have no British friends,
and I lack of knowledge on the the daily conversation, culture and slang maybe because I often travel to other countries and never settle down in this country well.
I would like to learn some more casual or informal British English and want to learn more about culture and their way of living. In return, I am happy to help your Japanese.
2. Spanish- beginner & want to use this for travel
Hola. Soy de Japon y vivo en Reino Unido. Me gustó viajar. He visitado 43 paises. Mi sueño es viajar tantos como sea posible.
Estoy aprendiendo español porque yo quiero visitar a Sudamérica.
I am looking for someone who are Spanish native and can teach me Spanish.
I am happy to help your Japanese.
I'm a student from the city of London, in England. I enjoy learning languages with a primary focus on Asian languages because I find the different alphabets interesting and in most cases quite beautiful.
I'm only just starting out in both Korean and Japanese, however, and there's no one in my real life for me to practice with, hence I'm here. I hope I will find people willing to help me here who remain respectful during our conversations.
Away from languages, I enjoy reading, writing and sometimes I draw (although I'm not very good at it).
I hope you can help me and I can help you!
P.S. I prefer exchanges with a mutual benefit.

I am currently looking for a curious tandem partner to have (coffee?) chats about travel, food, TV/film or local events in any of the above languages with. I am especially keen to refresh my French skills and to learn some more Spanish.

Hey, I’m Wendy, from mainland China, but currently living in the UK, I am a Chinese Mandarin tutor in England, and I can speak English fluently. In order to understand Japanese animation without subtitle, and able to read manga without translation, I would like to learn Japanese properly.
Also, anyone who wants to learn Chinese, or practice English, you are more than welcomed to contact me.
