Hello everyone, My name is Chao, I am from mainland China, currently studying Electronic Engineering in China as a master student. I will be working in Beijing, Haidian district this July as a chip designer. I am so excited about the new job in Beijing, and it would be great if we could meet there. I am a keen language learner, and it has always been exciting for me to meet interesting people from all over the world because learning new stuffs is so fun for me. I am trying to find a native English speaker who is also keen to learn Chinese, then we could be language exchange partners with half-hour Chinese, and half-hour English. We can arrange for a quick session in voice or video to know each other and figure out how to help each other. My current English level is C1, I really enjoy the feeling of progressing and training my brain with practicing English so I will keep learning this language for a long time. It would mean the world to me if someone could share with me language learning tips too. By the way, my avatar is about an artwork of the Hobbits. I am a real person. I will be traveling to US from June 1st to June 20th in US, and to Europe from June 21st to July 10th. I am so excited because it will be my first time to travel to foreign countries. And I guess after that I will be settled in my job for a while. My habits are as follows. 1. Podcasts, I enjoy listening to podcasts very much, especially related to English learning, psychology or just people's life attitudes towards different stuffs. My favorite podcasts are The Huberman Lab by Dr. Huberman, Feel Better, Live More by Dr. Rangan and The Hobbit- An Unexpected Journey. 2. Tennis, I have been playing tennis for a long time. It would be my pleasure to talk about related sports. And last summer I learned how to swim too. Learning new skills is so cool. I still clearly remember that magical moment from drowning to moving forward without drowning thanks to all the practice in advance. 3. Cooking, If you are quite interested in Chinese cooking, probably I can share my advice for doing that, It would be great if I could learn from the way you cook too. 4.Reading, there are two books I have been reading recently. Chatter: The Voice in Our Head, Why It Matters, and How to Harness It. Outlive: The Science and Art of Longevity. Please message me If you have any interesting books too share. Thank you so much and looking forward to hearing from you! I am usually free at my night from 6 pm to 11:30 pm. My time zone is GMT+8.

Hi! I'm an 18-year-old student from China. I'm interested in Russian history, literature, and culture. I wanted to read my favorite books and history materials in origin, then I took up the Russian language... So far I have a poor vocabulary and a poorer understanding of grammar haha. Just a beginner. I plan to visit Russia and Belarus this summer, so it's time to improve my Russian. I'm also interested in the culture of other Slavic countries. I'm learning Ukrainian on Duolingo (why there isn't Belarusian). And I want to find bros (I like to call people bros no matter what their gender is) to learn languages and talk together. We can make good friends! I'm open to all kinds of ideas, as long as we respect each other. As a native Chinese speaker, I'm eager to help you learn Chinese if needed. Sometimes there are things native speakers take for granted, so making friends with learners helps me understand my native language more. (Btw we can communicate by Telegram/VK/WeChat) *Too much schoolwork recently!! I may reply in a few days

Hello, everyone who saw my message. I come from Shenzhen, China, but my hometown is in the central part of China. I majored in psychology, but at present my job is related to IT. I like learning English because it allows me to see another world. I have been learning English for more than 10 years, if you include my study at school. My reading has been very good, I can basically read English professional papers, my oral and listening skills have reached the intermediate level, there is no problem in daily communication, and I can have some abstract discussions on some topics that I am familiar with. I want to further improve my oral English and listening ability. I want to be fluent in spoken English and have no obstacles in listening. I like reading and, of course, thinking. The most interesting thing for me is to discuss some problems with some friends. In the discussion, we enlighten each other and make progress together, but it is more important to see the outside world. My reading includes history, philosophy, psychology, fiction, economics. But it's all basic knowledge. I read about 50 books every year. I spend some time on the one hand, and on the other hand, I read faster. My other hobbies are running, playing badminton, and other light sports. Needless to say, I like the delicious scenery, too. And movies, I like American TV dramas very much, and I also watch some British TV dramas. Now I am watching Rick and Morty, and I like it very much. I graduated from a normal university and have worked as a teacher for 3 years, so I know how to teach. For learning Mandarin, I think it is very helpful to be able to explain complex concepts in common language. This is more conducive to the understanding of unfamiliar concepts than directly telling each other what it means. In other words, it is much better to understand Chinese concepts with Chinese thinking than to understand Chinese concepts with English thinking. My ideas are relatively open, especially, my political ideas are very open. As a Chinese, I am not a nationalist. Of course, I have read a lot of Chinese history, which is very important to understand Chinese culture. If the culture you are talking about is not just a habit, the historical factors behind it are also important. Of course, cultural issues also involve psychological issues. My ideal is to be proficient in English, and then I can make use of the language advantage to learn more, go to more places and know more people. Generally speaking, I think it is a happy thing to communicate, especially to discuss some topics of interest. But we don't have to be so serious every time. If you want to talk to me, please contact me.
