Hello! I'm an Aussie/Norwegian mum from Brisbane. I'm in my 40's and live with my husband, my son, and our cat. I have been living in Australia for 20+ years and consider myself fluent in English. Last year, my family had two Japanese students visit us for a homestay. That's when I started learning Japanese.
I'm looking for a serious language exchange partner who can help me with with Japanese. In exchange, I can help you with English. It's fine if you're a beginner too :-)

My name is Darryl and I live in Sydney Australia.
I am a retired High School Science Teacher.
I am looking for a language exchange partner to help improve my spoken Japanese.
I am not a beginner in Japanese, I have taken some classes and I did have a tutor some years ago. I have some speaking skills, but my English accent affects my Japanese pronunciation.
I would like to improve my pronunciation by speaking with a native Japanese speaker. I would also like to improve my listening skills and increase my conversational ability.
I realise I will never speak Japanese like a native speaker and will always have an accent.
I am looking for an exchange partner who speaks good English who would like to practise their skills in speaking and listening – and increase and improve their vocabulary. As a native English speaker and former teacher, I can help you to reach a higher, more fluent level of English.
Also, I play guitar. I like 60’s and 70’s music both acoustic and electric, and American blues music.
I am happy to exchange via Skype or WhatsApp.
