I'm Helen. I'm a 62 year old child psychiatrist and scientist. My hobbies are singing and dancing. I live in Glasgow, Scotland and I'm travelling to Japan in October. I have been studying Japanese for 6 months and I'm keen to have a language exchange with a Japanese speaker. I'm a retired teacher of English to Speakers of Other Languages at a Glasgow city centre college, living in Glasgow, mother of three and grandmother of two. I keep up my interest in languages by "meeting" some ex-students on Zoom once a week, going to a French class at Glasgow's Alliance Française and -attempting to ! -learn German from scratch.
I enjoy swimming , trips to the GFT [Glasgow Film Theatre] and drinking coffee in one of our many local cafés.

I'm a software engineer and I'm from Glasgow in Scotland (but hopefully my accent isn't too hard for you to understand! despite being voted #1 hardest English-speaking accent)
I'd say I'm about A2 in Danish (my vocabulary is alright, but I need more practice listening and talking + grammar), and A0 in Polish.
I'm planning on moving to somewhere in Poland...probably Warsaw...in October 2026.

Hi! I'm Sophia, an 18-year-old student living in Glasgow.
I grew up speaking both English and Russian, so I'm happy to help with either language. I'm interested in languages, culture, travel, and meeting people from different backgrounds.
At the moment, I'm mainly focusing on French and Mandarin. My French is around B2/C1 level, my Spanish is around A2/B1, and I've also started learning Mandarin, German, and Polish. I'd like to learn Arabic and British Sign Language in the future as well.
Outside of languages, I spend a lot of time doing sports and trying new activities. I enjoy running, weightlifting, cycling, swimming, Muay Thai, stretching, acrobatics, and flying trapeze. I also like reading and writing.

I'm here to try to learn some new languages, my initial idea was Russian and Chinese, but as they say "knowledge takes no place" so I'm willing to learn as many languages as my mind and time allow me, while I help you with Spanish or English (I can also speak and write some Portuguese).
My goal is to be able to reach at least a minimum knowledge to hold a small conversation. I know it can be a challenge but I am willing to give my best as a learner and as a "teacher" haha.
I have many hobbies but without a doubt the main ones are travelling and getting to know different places and their respective cultures, then I like "everyday things in life" like reading, cooking, doing sports or spending time with family and friends.

I'm from Hong Kong and currently residing in Scotland. I had had a long-term relationship with Taiwanese, so I'm fluent in Mandarin Chinese as if it were my native language.
I love traveling and have been to Nepal🇳🇵(Himalaya!), India, Myanmar...etc. And lived in Australia for three years. Other hobbies are books, coffee, movies and comics.

English: I can communicate in English just fine, but I'd like to become even more fluent.
Japanese: I'm still a beginner in Japanese, but my goal is to be able to hold normal conversations.
If you prefer to communicate with me in Chinese for a language exchange, that's absolutely fine. English is also an option, although I'm not as skilled as a native speaker, we can still improve together, right?
